Here are the guidelines to follow when your pet is scheduled for a surgical procedure at our hospital:
- COVID-19 guidelines: Contact our staff to find out what steps you need to take before your appointment. The exact protocol will depend on the current health situation.
- A few weeks prior to the procedure, we’ll email you a link with the consent form. Please fill out the form within 48 hours of receiving it in order to confirm your appointment.
- Your pet can have water, but do not feed them after 8:00 p.m. the night before and the morning of the procedure.
- If your cat goes outdoors, please keep them in the house the night before and the morning of the scheduled procedure.
- Please keep your pet on a leash or in their carrier for their own safety. We can also provide a carrier for a refundable deposit, if needed.
- Please arrive on time to your appointment. It will take about 10 to 15 minutes to meet with our medical staff and fill out the consent forms.
- For your convenience, you can bring your pet in the evening before the procedure at no additional charge. Just make an appointment with one of our staff members.
- The day of the procedure, bring along a small portion of your pet’s food in a Ziploc bag and any medications they take. Our team will make sure your pet receives their usual food and medication.
- You will need to provide us with a phone number where we can reach you at any time during your pet’s stay. The veterinarian must be able to reach you quickly in case of an emergency, and once the procedure is over.
- Cancellation policy: Our staff does everything they can to give our patients the best care possible in a timely manner. But we also need your help! If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we ask that you give us 24 hours’ notice so we can offer the time slot to another pet that needs care. Please note that if you don’t call ahead, we charge a $75 no-show fee, which must be paid before we can provide any further services.
