Lindsay Burkart

Veterinary Technician

Having graduated from Collège Boréal in 2011, Lindsay pursued her studies in Animal Health Technology, fueled by a lifelong passion for animals and nature. From a young age, she was the kid rescuing stray squirrels and saving frogs from lawnmowers, always finding joy in helping those in need.

Lindsay’s interests in veterinary medicine are diverse, with a particular focus on shelter medicine and parasitology, closely followed by nutrition and behavior. What she loves most about her job is the amazing team she works with. Each member brings their unique quirks and strong passion for animal care, creating an environment where great service flourishes!

Known for her love of frogs, creepy crawlies, and fascinatingly gross facts (like how frogs use their eyeballs to swallow food!), Lindsay brings a fun twist to veterinary care. At home, she shares her life with an eclectic mix of pets: a 12-year-old Pitt mix named Totem—her co-pilot and a foster fail who bravely survived parvo 11.5 years ago; a 3-year-old Chihuahua named Ransom; three rescue cats—Pawsum the Sphynx, Sully the Devon Rex, and Spryte the Munchkin; and a 5-year-old red-foot tortoise named Little Foot.

Always the rescuer, Lindsay is well-known for her habit of transporting surprise animals in her car, having had everything from 25 cats to 6 dogs, 4 Vietnamese pigs to 6 goats, 3 sheep, and even a monkey! Let’s not forget her adventures with skunks—her life is truly a testament to her love for all creatures great and small.
